The LAB met in regular session on Monday July 6, 1992.

Gail repol-ted:
She said patrons don't mind the security system and have been very cooperative
in adjusting to the minor inconveniences.
Videos are tagged. All new bODks and large texts are tagged.
Most books, children's books and Cosmo's magazines are tagged.
Mary and Gail suggested paying Ffe~a $20.00 for helping with the construction
of the Fourth of July Parade float. Gail bought the float materials out of
the budget money.
The consensus of the Board is to award a gift certificate of $20.00 to F~e~a
and a gift certificate of $5.00 to her father, Mr. Glen Minzey.
- Gail will send a thankYDu note to the man who loaned us the trailer and Dan
and his wife MaryAnn who drove the truck in the Fourth of July Parade.
- The Fourth of July parade float received Second PI~Lc~in the Municipal
Division category. '-..\
Mr. Robert Wilkens from the Art Gallery in Schertz will~harge $55.00 for a
logo if the library comes up with an idea for the logo o~ $125.00 if he comes
up with an idea fOl- the logo. Gail will talk to Ft~a .Jbout the logo.
Gail wants to expand bookstore sales by offering items for sale with the
library logo on them. For example: coffee mugs, bookmarkers, etc. Gail plans
to start the sales around Christmas

The librar~ will be closed for inventory on Saturday, August 8th.

Meeting Room Policy:
1. Mr. Sweatt has not returned the City's decision rega~ding the library's
Meeting Room Policy.
Gail wrote the policy and sent it in.
It has been suggested to make the meeting room available only when the
library is open due to the fact that the dispatchers have a difficult time
with control of room use.

t~e study rooms t~ teach. The tutor is using this establishment's facilities
to conduct her business. Gail will remind the tutor that the ~tudV rooms are
not ~or comm~~cial use.
The Board agrees to allow the study rooms to cOl,tinue being used, but to
monitor their' use so it doesn't become a problem.
Gail will make up a list of Rules and Procedures for study room use to, become
effective October 1, 1992. ,
The Library Budget is due July 10, 1992.
1. Gail needs a part time clerk and will include the cost in the budget.

her salary if the position is approved.
