deduction of $20.88 in October, which is unexplained by the auditors.
-The CD should be cashed in by the end of April.
-There is $7,778.51 in the cash account, and $7,129.00 in the CD account.
-All figures are as accurate as the can be at the moment.

Librarian's Report:
-Two part time clerks have been hired on a temporary basis, because Lisa had to
resign due to problems in her pregnancy.
-Gail received a resume' from a Mary Gonzales concerning the Children's
Librarian position, but hasn't been able to contact her. Hopefully the position will
be filled by June.
-An invitation was extended to the LAB to attend the dedication ceremonies of
the Guiterrez Xeriscape Park on April 19,1998 at 2:00 p.m.
.Plans for the Library renovation have been received. Gail asked for the LAB's
input and suggestions for changes. Concerns were mentioned about the foyer,
and about whether or not the trees would be affected. As of now, the $80,000
from the bond election would be used up on the exterior improvements. Gail is
looking for ways to cut costs. The LAB may have to fund the interior renovations,
i.e. carpeting, if the exterior costs can't be lessened.
-Gail and Margaret attended a couple of workshops during the TLA Conference
in San Antonio. One of the workshops was on Internet security.
-The contract with SW Bell will be signed on April 7. The fee will be
approximately $352.00 per month for four computers. Hopefully, the system will
be ready in June.
-Gail suggested that the Policy Committee schedule a meeting in the near future
to deal with Internet use. She will consult with Tony VanderHeyden and Sandy
for their input.
-June 3,1998 will be the 20th Anniversary of the Schertz Library. Bookmarks will
be made to give to patrons. There will also be an amnesty week during this time.
-There will be a more elaborate celebration when the building renovations are
completed.
Margaret made the motion to adjourn. Julie seconded the motion, which passed
unanimously. The next LAB meeting will be on Monday, May 4, 1998 at 7:00 p.m.
