SCHERTZ PUBLIC LffiRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
Due to the lack of a quorum on September 9, the LAB discussed items that will be tabled
until the October meeting.
Members Present: Ruth Tienor, Julie Parr, Barbara Ricks, Barbara Quates, and Gail
Douglas
--Story Time will start October 1, but needs council approval when budget is approved.
-Eastern Star donation will probably be used to purchase a new dictionary stand.
-Gail reported that August stats are up from last year (9,875).
-File server went down twice. Has been fixed by Ger-Mar.
--We did not get the grant to obtain the Internet. Probably a blessing. Will study it for
next year to include in budget.
-A 25c fee is being charged to cover postage for mailing postcards for book reservations.
--Policy: Will wait until the first of the year for policy changes.
-New Business: Dallin Malmgren submitted letter of resignation from the board.
--$739.00 in fines was collected in August.
