SCHERTZ PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LA.B) MINUTES
The LAB met in regular session on Monday, September 12, 1994.

The minutes were presented. Julie moved to accept and Ruth
seconded. Motion carried.
The Treasurer"s Report was presented. Ruth moved to accept and
Mary sec~nded. Motion carried.
'Librarian"s Report:
Universal City invited the Schertz Library to participate
in their parade. Schertz declined the invitation.
Stats are up over the previous months report.
The Schertz City Council approved the budget as submitted.
It is now awaiting county approval.
- Hope to get automated by late ~all. All circulation and
inventory will soon be on the computer which will shorten
the time necessary ~or research and inventory.
Still planning to brick the building with a ~und raiser.
We have two proposals ~rom hardware and so~tware
companies but will have to go out ~or bids.
TLA District 10 Meeting, October 8th, $15 ~or break~ast
and lunch at Lillie Marie's.
The bookstore is now open between the hours of 2:00 and

Committee Reports:
Bookstor-e:
- Mary suggested we have a clean-up be~ore and a~ter
the ne>:t meeting.
October 17 will be the first meeting that will
provide an opportunity to clean-up.
- Will call Henry Gutierrez to help with the recycling
of some of our old paperback books.
- No other committee reports were presented.
Old Business:
Nothing new to report on the unisex bathroom.
We still need to ~~L our sign backup.

Neil'J Bus i ness:
Dan Scho~eld has tendered his resignation ~rom the board.
Richard h~s extended an invitation to the whole Library
Board to meet and visit with members o~ the First Baptist
Church o~ Schertz on September 18th at 12:30 P.M.
Ruth moved for adjournment and Julie seconded. Motion carried.
