SCHERTZ PUBLIC LmRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on March 3rd with the following members present:
Barbara Ricks Margaret Riley Ruth Tienor Lisa Connolly
Gail Douglas Mary McAllister Regina Agee
Minutes: Minutes were presented. Margaret moved to approve the minutes, and Ruth
seconded. Minutes were approved.
Treasurer's Report: There was no Treasurer's report at this time.
Librarian's Report:
· Gail reported that stats are up from last month. February 2002 stats were 13413 and
February 2003 were 17117.
· There are 861 books overdue and fines of $10,477 outstanding. Statistics show that
approximately 3% of the books are lost.
· Barbara has been accepted as the county representative.
Committee Reports: none .

New Business: Mary moved that Cindy Waite be asked to join the LAB. Ruth seconded.
Motion passed. Gail will speak with Mark to make sure there is no conflict of interest as Mr.
Waite is on the city staff.

Report from Council Representative: Possibly 2 more banks coming to Schertz. Security
Finance broke ground near Blockbuster. The Dance Studio is beingbuilt near the City
Animal Facility.
