The LAB met on October 7, 2002 with the following members present:

Minutes: :Minutes were presented. Margaret moved to approve the minutes, and Simone
seconded. Minutes wen~ approved.
Treasurer's Report: Julie presented the Treasurer's report. Mary moved to accept the
treasurer's report, and Ivfargaret seconded. tvfotion carried.

Librarian's Report:
· The new library position will be a full time position.
· The Book Store is temporarily closed while the Children's area is being remodeled and the
computers are being moved. Hours when the Book Store will be open should be
considered. It would be open orJ-y when a Book Store volunteer is here.
· Stats for this year are 181,000 and for last year they were 133,000.
· Gail will talk to the police chief about the $200 the LAB is contributing to the vandalism
reward fund.
. Ivfark :tvIarquex has been appointed City :tvfanager.
· Gl:ij} will become the new D1..rectof of Leisure Services. Lnduded in this depilrt..ment will be
the Library. Gail will divide her time between the Library and City Hall. Meli~sa will
become the Library Manager, and Sandy will be the Circulation Manager.
. :tvfarg-aret is serving as the Lay Representative to AALS.
Committee RepOi1:S; none
New Business; The city's Christmas Parade will be December 6th. Consensus was that the
LAB will not sponsor a float in the parade this year.
Margaret Lemm has passed away. lvfrs. Lemm was active with genealogy research and
generously donated time, materials, and money to the library. Margaret Riley moved that the
L-!m purchase a playscape picket in her memorjm Ruth seconded. 1\1otion passed.
