Librarian's Report:
· Stats are down by about 800 this month. However, fines and copies are up so the
money taken in is up. Gail reported that they continue to be very busy with people
using the computers and the various other library activities.
· Open House on March 12th has been scheduled. Invitations have been mailed. The
computers by the genealogy room will be on carts. After the Open House these
computers can be moved to various locations in the library as they are on a wireless
network. They are set up for general use as well as one in Spanish and one as a
children's computer.
· The Gates people will provide training on the use of these computers for the library
staff on Monday, March 12th and Tuesday, March 13th.
. TLA is in San Antonio this year on March 27th - 30th.
. Annual Report is due April 1 st.
· Gail and Norma attended the Legislative Day at Austin in February. They went by
bus with area librarians. It was a good trip as they were able to network with other
librarians as well as visit with Longoria and Kempel.
Old Business:
· Mike Graves would like to be member of the LAB, but he is waiting for the okay
from the HEB corporation as this must be approved by his employer (due to work
schedule) before he can accept.
. Committee assignment listing was distributed.
New Business:
· A letter will be sent to Henry asking as to his intentions concerning the LAB.
There being no further business Julie moved to adjourn and Simone seconded. The next
meeting will be on Monday, April 2, at 7:00 p.m.
