e SCHERTZ PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on June 4, 2001 with the following members present:
Barbara Ricks Pia Jarman Julie Parr Ruth Tienor Margaret Riley
Jennifer Wallace Gail Douglas Henry Gutierrez Mary McAllister
Minutes: Minutes were presented. Pia moved to approve the minutes and Ruth seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Report: Julie presented the treasurer's report. Margaret moved to approve the
report and Ruth seconded Motion carried.
Librarian's Report:
· Stats are up.
· Summer Reading Program is ready to go. DeeDee Dale is doing the crafts for the
summer program. Some of the presenters for the programs are Mr. Cashwell, Jennifer
Wallace, Pia Jarman and Gail Douglas. There will be no reading program on July 4th.

New Business:
· Mr. Jain has requested that the Library Board pay a $400 audit fee. Ruth moved that the
Library Board does not pay the $400 as we are an advisory board and our only income is
from the bookstore. Pia seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
· DeeDee Dale will be working on an Uncle Sam for the 4th of July float. There may be
some work that needs to be done the weekend before and then final construction will be
at 7:00 a.m. on July 4th.
· Policy committee will meet to review the Internet Use Policy and the Collection
Development Policy.

Report from Council Representative:
· Gail reported for Norma. The community park project has received positive support.
Ruth moved to adjourn and Julie seconded. Due to the 4th of July acitivities and float
preparation, there will be no meeting in July. The next meeting will be on Monday, August
