LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
The Library Advisory Board met at their regular meeting on Monday, December 6,
1982 at 7:10 P.M.
Members present were:

The minutes of November 1 were read and corrected. Margaret moved we accept the
minutes; Julie seconded; motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT (see attached)
Julie filed an amended treasurer's report for November because the city book-
keeper did not cash CD#l that month.
Julie reported that a check was received for the remainder of the $62 that had
been stolen from the library...$31.00. Fred moved we accept the treasurer's
report; Henry seconded; motion carried.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
Gail reported the following
Circulation - 2,096
Resident cards - 31
Non-resident - 12
statistics:
User's fees - 4
Story Hour - 25
Fines - $73.45
Gail went to the Collection Development Workshop at District 10 and received
$200.00 to spend on books.
District 10 also gave us $200.00 to spend on audiovisuals--Gail ordered film~trips. '
Gail has two programs set up for the kids: A Wise Man will come on December 11
and Santa is coming on December 18.
$224.12 was spent on best sellers.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
PUblicity-Margaret reported on the follow-up publicity for the garage sale.
Auditor's committee-Dona reported that everything is accurate.
Nominating committee-recommends the following persons be appointed to the Library
Advisory Board for two year terms beginning January 1, 1983 and ending December
31, 1984.

NEW BUSINESS
Gail reported that Malford Ackerman brought a copy of the~~~ budget to the
library. The Schertz Public Library vill reoeive $6,000.00 from Revenue Sharing
and $3500.00 from the county budget.
Evelyn discussed the new building and said we have enough money to begin if ve are
ready to go to city council. She appointed Margaret and Tony to talk to the Lion's
Club to see hov firm their plans vere and if ve can coordinate our efforts before
going to council with a united effort.
Fred offered to draw up the specifications for the new building. It vas agreed
that we get together with the Lions in January and go to council in February.
Ruth and Margaret reported on attending the annual TLA District 10 meeting at
Texas Lutheran College on November 6.
