The Schertz Public Library Board met March 5, 1979. Minutes of the Feb-
ruary meeting were approved as read.
The treasurers report stated that on January 31,1979 there was $1,542.04
in the operating account. Income was 58~ from interest on investments. Expen-
ditures totaled $179.38. The balance as of February 28, 1979 was $1,363.24.
Total of investments being $2,511.00 in a certificate of deposit.
The librarians report was given by Julie Parr as follows: Circulation
totaled 1,068, fines collected $11.60,8 films and 48 children attended story
hour on Saturdays.
Committee Reports:
Book Committee: Classified 200 books.
Budget & Finance: Submitted application to J. Frank Dobie Foundation
for grant.
Building & Property: Met with Hillert Air Conditioning on lowering
duct work if the ceiling is lowered.
Personnel: Mr. Hill, Ruth & Marg went on February 9th to Boerne and
Comfort libraries.
Publicity: Several good reports in papers

Surplus carpet was sold in March for a high bid of $21.00
March 29th District X Advisory Board Meeting - discussion was held on
the upcoming book sale on March 30th thru April 1st.
Mr. Hill reported on upcoming city elections.
Kermit Harborth discussed the possibility of securing a bike rack. Doug
Mikus made a motion to spend not more than $150.)00 for the Vo-Ag class to build
a bike rack. Edith Cloud seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Marg Rakowsky made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Kay Sherman seconded.
Motion carried unanimously.
