LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD ~ffiETING
JUNE 5, 1978
The regular meeting of the Advisory Board was called to order
at 7:10 p.m.
Members present: Ruth Tienor, Marge Rakowsky, Margueri te Martine"
Kay Sherman, Mary Neleigh, Edith Cloud, Evelyn Rogers, Kermit
H arborth, Harriett Lipps, Doug MikUS, MarRaret Riley. Absent:
Jean Delonly.
The minutes of May 1, 1978 were read and approved.

Committee Reports and Action:
Cataloging-
Harriett Lipps reported 4000 - 5000 books have been
cataloged. The Command Librarian from Randolph
donated copies of Time and Newsweek until that
subscription runs out.
Clean-Up -
A decision was made that all the Board Members
should help clean once a week. A schedule will be
posted in the Library by Marguerite Martinez.
Finance
The Dance made a total of $823.09. Raffle Tickets
brought in $557.75 with expenditures of $48.00(cups,
napkins,petty cash, etc.)

- Marge Rakowsky reported that general procedures
have been completed and are on file. A Workshop
for Volunteers was conducted on May 30. In
attendance were 21 adults and 8 teen-agers.
Mary Neleigh reported that Rennie's Florist will
be contacted again about landscaping. Cost of
buying a vacuum cleaner was discussed. Buzzer
for Children's Room door will be installed. More
pillows ,need to be made for the Children's Room, and
a plastic runner for the doorway is to be bought.
-Kay Sherman reported : Jim Sherman advises a Compli-
mentary Library Card be sent to Chuck Siniff and
Bill Altman of the Herald for the great support
they have given through the paper. Also advises
letters be sent to other editors-- Valley, Light,
Sun, etc.
New Business - Raffle winners were: TV - Julie parr;$50.00 Savings
Bond - John Lawrence; Country Kettle - Elaine Baker;
Case of Champagne- Alyn Logan; Irish Coffee Glasses-
Mrs. George Bolton; Bar tools - Mrs. Jentsch.
District X has $700.00 for us to spend on Juvenile and
Young Adult books and Cataloging tools.
A letter of resignation from Jean Deloney was read.
Suggestions were made for a replacement. They will
be contacted.
Mr. Hill will check on the cost for a pla~ue to be
placed on the building with names of councilmen and
board members, at the time of initial organization to
dedication date.
District 10 has a Speaker's Bureau. A committe was
appointed to select a speaker and set a date.
Mary Garcia, World Book representative is checking
on getting a donor.
N ew shelves are needed - approximately 18. Camp
Gary will be contacted.
The 4th of July jubillee at Schertz Park was discussed.
Marguerite Martinez will be working with Ruth Tienor
and Margaret Riley to get the booth set up and schedle
workers.
Evelyn Rogers moved and Kay :iherman seconded that the meeting be
adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
