, LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
The Library Advisory Board met in regular session on Monday, November 3, 1986
at 7:30 p.m.

The minutes of the October meeting were corrected to include Connie Brison as a
member present. Connie moved to accepted the corrected minutes and Margaret seconded.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Julie presented the Treasurer's report and moved to accept it. Margaret seconded.

Reported by Gail:
The Collection stands at: Adult 8804; Young Adult, 1301; and Juvenile, 3343.
Fines will be raised to 10~ per day beginning January 1, 1987. December will
be amnesty month for over-due books. Gail will try to get note on water bills
in December.
Gail has received information from Sperry concerning a computer and library
management system. Gail will check with Bob Walton, Texas State Library Auto-
, mation Consultant, . as to how best meet the needs of the library with a computer
management system.
Margaret has been hired as the Project Co-ordinator for the Library Literacy
Council. Gail ~ the Project Director. Margaret will maintain her offioe here
at the library and monies from the grant will provide another phone line here.
Gail commented on the successful workday Saturday.
The Tax Reform and Investing Income Seminar will be held November 13 and 18.

PUBLICITY AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
Connie has been updating the scrapbook. Connie will check into getting decals/
bumper stickers that say "I support the Schertz Library".
BUILDING
The circuit breakers are still_ blowing. An electrician will check -this. "
OLD BUSINESS
NOMINATING COmlITTEE
Mary reported that the committee met and that Gene Weaver, Earl Hartzog, Fred
Ross, and Margaret Riley have consented to serve on the Library Board for another
2 year term.
A dead bolt lock will be put on the back door.
The Schertz Humane Society will be invited to the December meeting so that discussion
and plans for the auction/dance can begin.
There being no tither:business Ruth moved that the meeting adjourn. Julie seconded.
