LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
The Library Advisory Board met in regular session on Monday, April 1,19d5
at '(:30 p.m.

Fred moved that the minutes of the March 4th meeting be approved as corrected.

Ruth seconded.
TREASURER'S RbTORT
Julie presented the monthly Treasurer's report. $17tl7.50, Revenue Sharing monies,
was paid to the city. Consensus of the board was to leave the $450 from the sale
of the card catalog in the CD until purchase of new furniture. Gail stated the need
of a deacon's bench for the reading area. Julie stated that a portion of the
County Budget Allotment ($1912.50) had been received. Discussion followed. Ruth
moved that we use Revenue Sharing monies to repay the city and that we put the
County Budget Allotment monies in a CD to.be used for capital improvements at a
future date. Margaret seconded. Motion carried.
1hrgaret made a motion that the Treasurer's report be accepted. Fred seconded.
Julie presented a financial report from the 19t15 Book Sale. Total income was $1270.

The Collection stands at: Adult Volumes - '(59b; Young Adult - 121~; and
Juvenile - 2'(93.
The color ana~sis program was held.
April is stats month.
The copier was cleaned. The Zerox maintenance contract is not paid by the
city. It was an oversight and will be put in next year's buaget.
A letter has been written to John Smith requesting that the Jaycees sponsor
a Bingo Night for the library.
The storage of donated, books. is'a conoern~~ as they can not be kept on ~the
library floor. They must be moved to the storage area. Gail asked if
someone could help see that this was done.
Gail presented the idea of providing a typewriter for use at the library or
to be checked-out.
The Universal City Library will open July 1. Gail h~s been asked to attend
a meeting. The Library Board advised Gail to suggest that the U.C. board
seek advice from District 10,as needed.
BUILDING .,
Seven sprinkler heads are missing and need to be replaced. Gail will purchase
these heads for $5 each. The bird bath needs a bigger basin. A work order will
be put in to have the grass cut. Possibly Mike will cut the grass as he has taken
over the maintenance of the library.
FRIENDS
The Friends sponsored a bake sale at the Book Sale.

Ruth moved and Julie seconded the policy change H. Motion carried.
Margaret distributed the revised Policy.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Book Sale - Ruth reported that most people saw the advertisements at Garden Ridge,
Sonic, on the water bill, and in the Herald and WingSpread. liuth is updatinga folder
on the sale and asked for comments.

A letter concerning the 4th of July Jubilee was received. Gail will offer this
letter to the Friends.
Gail and Margaret will be attending the Texas Library Ass'n State Convention in
Dallas on April 24-26. Ruth moved that $12~ be alloted for Convention fees.
