LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
The Library Advisory Board met in regular session on Monday, December 2,
1985 at 7:30 p.m.

Margaret moved to accept the minutes of the November meeting. Ruth
seconded.
TREASURER~S REPORT
Julie presented the Treasurer~s report. She stated that there are
sufficient funds in the CD to repay the loan to the city. Mary moved to
accept the report and Ruth seconded.

The amount of $11,700 has been recorded with the state library as
expenditures on book materials this year.
The first shipment of the Library of America books has been re-
ceived.
The Universal City Library is interested in reciprocal borrowing.
Discussion followed. Margaret moved that reciprocal borrowing be

postponed until a Universal City Library Director is appointed.
At that time reciprocal borrowing will be reconsidered. Connie
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
BUILDING COMMITTEE
One air compressor is not working. Gail will call Mike.
OLD BUSINESS
The Dance/Auction will be held ~y 15. Margaret said that the
Schertz Humane Society will co-sponso~event.
The city council will recognize Doris Courtney on Tuesday, December 3rd,
for her contributions to the library. Flowers from the library board
will be presented.
Margaret reported that the Long-Range Planning Committee recommended
that no goals/action be taken until after the March workshop on long-
range planning.
The loan to the city will be paid in full at the city council meeting on
~an~~ 21. Plans will be formalized at the January library board
mee 1ng.
NEW & MISC. BUSINESS
Ruth presented information on highway library signs. She stated that
signs such as these would be good public relations for the city as well
as the library. Mr. Aguilar will present this information to the city.
The Nomination Committee presented the slate of officers for the 1986
year. It is as follows:

Treasurer - Julie Parr
Secretary - Mary McAllister
Connie moved to accept the 'slate of officers. Earl seconded. Motion
carried.
Margaret moved that the meeting adjourn.
