LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
The Library Advisory Board met in regular session on Monday, April 4,
1983, at 7:00 P~.
Members present were:

Evelyn Rogers brought the meeting to order.
Fred Ross moved the minutes of March 7 be approved. Motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT (see attached)
Fred moved we accept the Treasurer's Report. Motion carried.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
The statistics for March:
Circulation - 2,688
Resident Cards - 65
Non-Resident - 31
User's Fee - 5
Story Hour - 42
Fines - $120.60
Gail reported:
Adult - 6,515; young adult - 1,154; juvenile - 2,250
Chuck Sharpe apologized for the library taping on cable that didn't
show.
Margaret Riley and Gail attended a workshop on professional story
tellers. A special program for Easter was scheduled; but the article
written about it was not in the paper.
The Lionesses donated $150 to the library.
David is willing to give a free concert with proceeds to go
to the library. It was discussed - no decision.
Gail also reported that in June and July of 1981 circulation was 3,101.

Summer reading program is starting. Mini-stock show in the parking
lot is being thought about.
City Council voted and approved Gail's hours and health benefits.
Gail should keep track of progress as soon as Mr. Gilmore acts on
the above.
BUILDING
Fred reported the blueprints were turned into the ci~ the following
week. Date of bid openings to be Friday, April 15 at 10:00 AM.
The library may have to move temporarily if the old building is sold.
Tony will talk to the Lions (Mr. Barnard) to see how they will help.
Margaret will go to Radio Shack concerning the computer as a raffle
i tern for the Fourth of JUly.
Ruth Tienor asked for names of Presidents of local groups to contact
about dontations for the library. We may need prices of specific
items.
NEW BUSINESS
City is very willing to help with the new library.
The Board should be aware of when the budget hearings come up.
There will be a special committee meeting, April 15, at 7:00 PM,
after the bids.
Margaret made a recommendation that the Executive Board make a
replacement for Henry DeLony. Cecil Tilghman was suggested.
Fred Ross will attend April 13th ci~ workshop at 7:00 PM.
Harriett moved we adjourn. Julie seconded. Motion carried.
