PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES

The Schertz Planning and Zoning Commission convened in Regular Session,
Tuesday, November 22, 1983 in the Municipal Complex Conference Room, 1400
Live Oak Road. t1embers present were as follows:

#3 CONSIDER AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACnON: Preltmtnary Plat Horseshoe O~k
Unit 2B
Neil Fisher presented tne Preliminary Plat onUntt 2B and answered
questtons ondratnage. Tne Plat snnuld nave tne flood elevation tn~
dtca,ted on the Plat. Lee Boswell made a motion to approve Preliminary
Plat, Cam Beauchemin seconded and vote was unanimous in favor.
#4 CONSIDER AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION: Zoning Ordinance change to in-
clude set back lines for G~Hl
and M2
t1erwin Willman submitted a proposal on the Rear Yard set back for Gen-
eral Business and Neighborhood Service District and also recommend the
Side Yard setback and Rear Yard setback for H2 be the same as MI. The
Commission agreed t~e proposal was good and should be included as part
of the Zoning Ordinance. It was agreed to hold these changes pending
the outcome of the Zoning Ordinance review
Merwin Willman also recommened that Section 2 Article XIX (page 27)
and Section 3, Article XIX (page 23) be deleted because of non com-
pliance. After a short discussion it was agreed this area should be
looked into during the Zoning Ordinance review.

#5 CONSIDER AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION; Subdivision Ordinance Review

The Com~tsstoncompleted the review of the Subdivision Ordinance and
requested the City Engineer review qnd provide comments.
#6 GENERAL DISCUSSION
Chqtrman Ltneoarger advised the Commission that Clay McMahan resigned
from toe Com~tision~ because of a change of residency. John Linebarger
asRed that selecttonof Planntng and Zoning applicant be on the Agenda
for the next meeting. '
There was a discussion on the position of secretary and a volunteer
needed to fill the posttion~ It was recommended that someone from the
City Staff should be paid to preform this duty at the meeting. This
would not work since the secretary signs the Plats. Earl Hartzog ad-
vised the Commission of ground breaking for the Sycamore Creek Apart-
ments, December 5, at 10:00 m~.
It was agreed not to have a meeting on December 27, and on January 3,
1984 a Joint Public Hearing on zoning changes, with a Special r1eeting.
The next meeting would be December 13, 1983.
