PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES
The Schertz Planning and Zoning Commission convened in a special workshop
session on Tuesday, May 29, 1984 in the Municipal Complex Conference Room)
1400 Live Oak Road. Members present were as follows:

#2 CONSIDER AND MAKE RECOMMENDATION: Mobile Home Ordinance Revision
Merwin Willman had presented the Commission a copy of the present Mobile
Home Ordinance with old and new ch~nges identified.
There was discussion on the difference between modular, manufactured and
mobile homes. The present Ordinance establ ished standards for mobil e home
parks and subdivisions, with a sectton'about RV parks. There was discus-
sion about separating each nem and including manufactured housing.
It was agreed modular homes should be permitted in any subdivision and need
not be confined to mobile home areas.
There was discussion about RV's being in mobile home parks and the require-
ment for skirting) but items were not resolved.
Requirements for park owners to obtain a license was not resolved) nor the
enforcement.
Recommended changes to the Ordinance were reviewed and some changes were
made to the wording. The size of mobile home sites was discussed but not
resolved. The requirements for drive through slots in RV parks was deleted.

It was agr~ed the Staff would obtain sample ordinances from other cities,
and a group would work together to change the layout of the existing
Ordinance.

There was discussion about enforcement of existing Ordinances.
