PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Schertz convened in regular session
Tuesday, February 27, 1979 at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Complex Countil Chambers,
1400 Live Oak Road. The following members were present:

#1 CALL TO ORDER - The meeting was called to order by Chairman Aguilar at 7:00 p.m.
#2 READING OF MINUTES - The minutes of February 13, 1979 were read. Motion to accept
the minutes as read was made by John Marquette. Motion was seconded by John
Linebarger, all members were in favor, motion carried.
#3 NEW MEMBER - Chairman Aguilar introduced Mr. Kenneth Greenwald as a new member to
the Commission.

#4 REVIEW OF REVISED OAK FOREST MASTER PLA~ - Mr. Coy Simmons and Mr. Craig Hollmig
were present to answer questions concerning Oak Forest Master Plan, including
Unit #3. Mr. Simmons requested variances of lot sizes in Unit #3. John
Linebarger made a motion that the Commission had reviewed the Master Plan with Mod-
ifications suggested to and agreed to by Mr. Simmons. In addition, Mr. Linebarger
requested that the revisions be reflected on the Master Plan, and presented to the
Planning and Zoning Commission at the next regular scheduled meeting. Raymond Stanhope
seconded the motion. All members were in favor, motion carried unanimously.
#5 VARIANCE-REQUEST ON LOT SIZE' FOR OAK FOREST UNIT #4 - John Linebarger made a
motion that we propose action on the varying request on lot size for Oak Forest
Unit #4 for our discussion with Mr. Simmons and his engineer that they review
terrain and available landscaping. Upon resubmittle of the proposal, Planning
and Zoning Commission will reconsider the variance request on the shape and size
of the lots. Motion was seconded by Kenneth Greenwald, all were in favor, motion
carried unanimously.
#6 REVIEW PROPOSED ZONING DISTRICT MAP - The Commission reviewed the district map and
recommended changes to the Council on many parcels of land.
#7 GENERAL DISCUSSION - Chairman Aguilar noted that this was the last meeting for John
Marquette, as he is being transfered to another station. John has been a very active
member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, there will be a letter of appreciation
from the City.
#8 ADJOURNMENT - There being no further business Chairman Aguilar then closed the
meeting at 9:00 p.m.
