The Planning and Zoning Commission convened in Regular Session on Tuesday,
August 14, 1979, at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Complex Conference Room, 1400 Live
Oak Road. The following members were present:

#1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Aguilar called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
#2. READING OF MINUTES - July 24t 1979
Mrs. Lawler moved that the minutes be accepted as written. Mr. Linebarger
seconded the motion. The Commission approved the motion unanimously.
#5. CONSIDERATION OF CITY COUNCIL'S REQUEST RE: ALTERNATIVES TO PROPOSED
GENERAL BUSINESS ZONING ALONG FM 3009 NEAR GREENFIELD VILLAGE
Chairman Aguilar moved to Agenda item #5, owing to the presence of many
residents of Greenfield Village. Mr. Scott distributed to Commission
members written alternatives to the proposed General Business District
along'FM3009t which communication was transmittea to the Commission by
City Staff on instructions of the City Council.
Chairman Aguilar recognized Greenfield Village spokesman, Mr. Don Grainger,
and asked him to speak on behalf of the residents present. Mr. Grainger
registered the objections of Greenfield Village residents to the proposed
General Business District along the west side of FM 3009, and read a statement
to that effect, which statement will be transmitted to the Planning and
Zoning Secretary for inclusion in the permanent files of the Commission.
Mr. Sharp moved to receive with thanks the views and written communications
of Greenfield Village residents and, further, that the Commission receive
the.alternatives proposed for study and consideration, especially alternative
114 and,'further, that the Commission postpone'uny action until a Spee:.=Lacl .'

seconded the motion. The Comm-ission approved the motion unanimously. _.

#3. STAFF BRIEFING
Mr. Scott distributed to the Commission members copies of a letter from
Mr. Ron Garrison, sometime Building Inspector, and he distributed copies
of a letter from himself to the Commission members.
Mr. Linebarger moved that a letter from the Commission to Mr. Scott be
prepared for the Chairman's signature, so to express the Commission's
appreciation for Mr. Scott's efforts on their behalf. Mrs. Lawler
seconded the motion. The Commission approved the motion unanimously.
#4. CONSIDERATION OF PRELIMINARY PLAT - Beacon Circle East Subdivision
Mr. Greenwald moved to grant preliminary approval to the Beacon Circle
East Subdivision plat, subject to the Engineer's approval of drainage
plans and facilities. Mr. Linebarger seconded the motion. The Commission
approved the motion unanimously.

GENERAL DISCUSSION

Chairman Aguilar announced a Special Session to be held on Monday, August 20,
1979, at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Complex Conference Room. Chairman Aguilar
also announced that the Commission would continue its review of the proposed
Subdivision Ordinance, pages 16-30, at the next Regular Session on Tuesday,
August 28, 1979.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Aguilar adjourned the meeting at 8:30 p.m.
