PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Schertz convened in
Special Session, on Tuesday, December 18, 1979, at 7:00 PM in the
Hunicipal Complex Conference Room, 1400 Live Oak Road. The follmving
members were present:

Qlairman Aguilar called the Special Session to order at 7:00 PM.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES - December 11, 1979
Minutes amended to read in paragraph 114, to include the ~vord approx-
imately before the amount of money stated for renting apartments.
Mr. Greenwald moved to accept the minutes as amended. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Sharp. Motion carried unanimously.
113 ZC-22 - CONSIDERATION OF MAGDALENA CORPORATION - Rezoning request
from R2 to R4 of a 3.016 acre tract out of 8.927 acres,
located between Pfeil Street and Live Oak Road.
There was discussion among the members concerning the pros and cons
of the ZC-22 rezoning request. The pros being:
1. The City is in need of a bigger tax base.
2. We can not stop progress.
l,.Jith the cons being:
l~ There is no guarantee or means to hold the developer to what they
present.
2. That area of the City is being overloaded with apartment complexes.
Mr. Willman felt that any discussion made should include that the 200
feet facing Live Oak Road should remain General Business. All members
agreed with him.
Motion was made by Mr. Stanhope to recommend approval of the tezoning
of ZC-22, but to exclude the 200 feet facing Live Oak Road which is to
remain General Business.

Motion was seconded by Mr. Greenwald, with the following votes:
AYES: Mr. Greenwald, Mr. Stanhope, Mr. Willman
NAYS: Hr. Sharp, Mr. Linebarger, Hrs. Lawler, Hr. Aguilar

Planning and Zoning ask that City Staff send a letter to City Council
stating that:
Planning and Zoning COTlli~ission recommend to City Council to disapprove
ZC-22 and that the zoning of 200 feet General Business property along
Live Oak Road remain the same.
