PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES
The Schertz Planning and Zoning Commission and Schertz City
Council convened in a joint Public Hearing on Tuesday October
4, 1982 at 7:00 PM in the Municipal Complex Council Chambers,
1400 Live Oak Road. Members present were as follows:

#1 CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Sawyer called the meeting to order and turned the meeting
over to Chairman John Linebarger.

#2 PUBLIC HEARING: Zoning Ordinance Change.

Receive input from the Public for a recommended
change to the Zoning Ordinance No. 79-S-15 to
change Article XXI Planned Residential Unit
Development District (PRUD) to Planned Unit
Chairman Linebarger advised all persons present about the purpose
of the Public Hearing and the procedures that would be followed
during the hearing.
James Hardin advised his property was zoned commercial which he
did not like and he did not want any additional property in the
area zoned commercial.
John Bowman advised the 25 foot set back was inadequate and
pointed out several phrases in the ordinance should be worded
differently for ela:Bi#e-a-tioFl. He ask for landscaping to be
defined and minimum acres should be changed to 25. Chairman

#3 PUBLIC HEARING: Specific Use Permit~
Receive input from the public fro a Specific Use
Permit to locate a church at Block 1, Lots 1
and 2 of Biegert Subdivision.
Chairman Linebarger advised all persons present about the purpose
of the Public Hearing and the procedures that would be followed

during the hearing.
Carlton Jackson explained the purposal to locate the Church of
Christ on the property located at 103 and 105 Church Street.
He explained the plans for parking and planned location of the
church.
Chairman Linebarger asked the audience if anyone had any questions.
Several residents from the area ask for the request to be denied
because of narrow streets and inadeq~~t~~~ace and parking.
City Council asked Mr. Jackson several questions about parking,
access to the property from the other sides. Mr. Jackson advised
the Commission, that Mr. Riedel Baidthey douldparklim his property
and use it as a drive access.
Chairman Linebarger closed the Public Hearing on this subject and
turned the meeting back over to the Mayor.
#4 ADJOURNMENT OF PUBLIC HEARING:
Mayor Sawyer adjourned the Public Hearing at 7:40 PM.
