PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Schertz convened in
Regular Session on Tuesday, August 11,1981 at 7:00 PM, in the Council
Chamber, 1400 Live Oak Road. The following members and visitors were
present:

#1 CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Linebarger called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
#2 READING OF MINUTES: Regular Session of Planning and Zoning Commission,
July 28,1981
Lee Boswell made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Merwin
Willman seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor.
#3 CONSIDER FOR APPROVAL: Subdivision Plat for Unit 4, Lost Meadows
Mr. Willman made a motion to approve the Plat, Mr. Greenwald seconded
the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor.
#4 CONSIDER PERCENTAGE OF DWELLING MIX OF HEIMER-PREUSSER DEVELOPMENT
Mr. Willman made a motion to acknowledge the dwelling mix as approved
by the City Council with the understanding that if the developer de-
sires to adjust the percentages, they must be presented to the Plan-
ning and Zoning Commission prior to being approved. Mr. Greenwald
seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor.
#5 CONSIDER REVISION OF "SCHEDULE OF USES"
Mr. Brooks requested the Planning and Zoning Commission defer revision
pending the review of several new laws recently passed by the State
Legislature. Chairman Linebarger stated deference would be appropriate
for a reasonable period of time until more information on some of the
new laws is available.

~ #6 STAFF BRIEFING
Mr. Brooks provided the Commission Members with preliminary copies of
the Randolph Region Transportation Study. He also advised that as a
result of the original study in the early 1970's, approximately 80%
of the proposed highway construciton in that study has been completed
or is in progress. Mr. Brooks also advised that he is attempting to
purchase new aerial maps of the City, if the cost is not too much.
#7 GENERAL DISCUSSION
Mr. Clay McMann was introduced by Ray Stanhope as an applicant for the
Planning and Zoning Commission. He is an 8 year resident of the City,
retired Air Force, and interested in assisting the City to grow. Mr.
Sharp stated that this is hi~ last meeting as a Planning and Zoning
Commission t1ember due to business commitments. He thanked Mr. Brooks
for the excellent flow of information he has been providing the Com-
mission, stating it is the best assistance he has seen to the Commis-
sion during his approximately ten years as a Commission Member. Chair-
man Linebarger requested that Mr. Brooks make arrangements for the City
Council to appropriately recognize Mr. Sharp for his outstanding service
to the Community. Chairman Linebarger personally expressed his appre-
ciation to Mr. Sharp, as did the entire Commission Members.
