PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES
The Schertz Planning and Zoning Commission convened in Special Session
on Tuesday, April 19, 1983 at 7:00 PM, in the Conference Room of the
Municipal Complex, 1400 Live Oak Road. Members present were as follows:

#. CALL TO ORDER
Ken Greenwald, Vice-Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:25 PM.
#2 READING OF MINUTES: Regular Meeting
April 12, 1 983
Ray Stanhope made motion to accept minutes, Lee Boswell second the motion
and vote was unanimous in favor.
#3 CONSIDER AND MAKE RECOMMENDATION ON ZONING CHANGE NO. 43
After some discussion, Ray Stanhope motioned to approve Zoning Change
No. 43. Lee Boswell second the motion and vote was unanimous in favor.
After some discussion, Ray Stanhope made amendment to above motion, that
if construction is not started within 120 days, zoning will revert back
to General Business. Lee Boswell second the motion and vote was unanimous
in favor.

#4 CONSIDER AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION: Horseshoe Oaks
Zoning Change
Developer was not present, so item was tabled.
#5 CONSIDER AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION: Preliminary Plat
Sycamore Creek Subdivision, Unit I
200 Apartment Complex

The Commission was advised the architect for project was out of town and
preliminary plat was not quite ready. Item was tabled.
#6 GENERAL DISCUSSION
Earl Hartzog advised that Archie Heimer plans to present a Preliminary
Plat at next meeting.
#7 ADJOURNMENT
Ken Greenwald adjourned the meeting at 7:55 PM.

in Joint Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 19, 1983 at 7:00 PM, in the Council
Chamber of the Municipal Complex, 1400 Live Oak Road. Members present were

#1 CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Sawyer called the meeting to order and turned the meeting over to
Vice-Chairman Ken Greenwald.
#2 PUBLIC HEARING: Zoning Change No. 43
Consider the request of Mr. Tommy Haney to rezone approx-
imately one acre of land from General Business District (GB) to Apartment/
Multi-Family Dwelling District (R-4). Said land being Lot 5, Block 5,
Village I Subdivision, Guadalupe County, at 800 block of Live Oak Road,
being approximately two hundred and fifty-six (256') feet along westerly
side of Live Oak Road between Aero Avenue and Mitchell Avenue, and approx-
imately one hundred and forty-two (142') feet in depth from Live Oak Road
in a westerly direction.
Vice-Chairman Greenwald advised all persons present about the purpose of
the Public Zoning Hearing and the procedures that would be followed during
the hearing. He then asked Mr. Haney to present his request for zoning.
Mr. Haney presented site plans showing how the apartments will look.

Several questions were asked by Council regarding easement and fencing. Mr.
Haney explained these satisfactorily.
Mr. Miller, who lives on Colony behind site, expressed concern about privacy.
Mr. Norwine asked about type of people living in units. Concern about noise.
Also, entrance/exit to complex. _
#4 ADJOURNMENT OF PUBLIC HEARING
Meeting was turned back over to the Mayor, who adjourned the Public Hearing
at 7:20 PM.
