PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES
The Schertz Planning and Zoning Commission convened in Special Session on
Monday, August 1, 1983 at 6:00 PM, in the Conference Room of the Municipal
Complex, 1400 Live Oak Road. Members present were as follows:

#1 CALL TO ORDER
Ken Greenwald called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
#2 READING OF MINUTES: RegularMeeting
July 26, 1983
Merwin Willman made motion to accept minutes of July 26th with amendment
to include, under General Discussion, liThe proposed street names for
Horseshoe Oak would be acceptable if the word "OAK" was deleted from the
street names~. Lee Boswell second the motion and vote was unanimous in
favor.
#3 CONSIDER AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION: Northcl iffe East Community III,
Variance on Utility Location
Earl Hartzog advised the Commission he had meet with the Utility Companies
as requested at the last meeting.
The telephone and cable TV preferred to remain in the rear of lots and a
closed 8' easement was acceptable.
The developers wanted closed easements for security and a neater appear-
ance in the subdivision.
GVEC will not permit meters on the side of homes in new subdivisions.
The utility companies agreed to placement of electric in the front of
lots for Horseshoe Oak and Northcliffe.

The Commission was advised Hoffman-Schertz Business Park request should
be tabled since thetr Engineer had not proivded input.
#4 CONSIDER AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION: Hoffman-Schertz Business Park.

#5 CONSIDER AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION: Horseshoe Oaks Unit I,
Variance on Utility Location
Merwin Willman made a motion to grant variance to Northcliffe and
Horseshoe Oak to place phone and cable TV in rear with closed fencing
and electric in the front. Cam Beauchemin second the motion and vote
was:

#6 GENERAL DISCUSSION
Earl Hartzog advised Commission there would be no meeting August 9th.
There would be a Joint Public Hearing, August 16. 1983. for zoning of.
Horseshoe Oaks and special meeting after.
It was agreed to go with a regular agenda if necessary.
