The LAB met on October 6, 2008 with the following members present:

Minutes: Patti moved to accept the minutes, and Carol seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: September Book Store sales were $665.07. Mary moved to accept the treasurer’s report, and Carol seconded. Motion carried.

Librarians’ Reports:
Stats were as follows:
circulation – 22,552 patrons – 16,331 story times – 994 computer usage – 2,468 info/ref./comp. questions – 775 phone calls – 889 volunteer hours – 229.25
restitution hours – 22.75
Inventory is being completed.
Library Systems Meetings included a Collections Meeting and Fall Membership Meeting.
Work continues to progress on the new building. Crews have been working on the roof gutter.
Corbett NJHS and Clemens Drama Club will help read for the Just Think Blue program.
The Duct Tape Club has made book jackets, bookmarks, aprons, and sandals.
Nicki is scheduled to do a Movie Maker presentation at TLA in March.
A fall reading club will be held instead of a winter reading club. The reading program will be called “Take a Reading Staycation”.
Nicki is requesting funding support of the fall reading program.
Approximately $430,000 has been raised for the Writing the Next Chapter Fundraising Campaign.
Council Liaison’s Report: none
Bookstore Sidewalk Sale Rescheduled for October 18
The Sidewalk Sale will be from 10-5 on Saturday, October 18th. Everyone is encouraged to help set up.

Gift items suggested for sale in the new bookstore were: library groupie T-shirts, canvas embroidered bags, large shopping bags, note cards, and 3-d holiday glasses.
Letters of Intent: Letters for Writing the Next Chapter can be sent to Gail.
Items by Library Board members:
Mary moved to allocate $600 for the fall reading program. Neota seconded. Motion passed.
Carol made a motion to order 3-d holiday glasses/display. Order will be placed soon so glasses can be sold this holiday season. Patti seconded. Motion carried.
Any board member whose term is expiring and would like to continue serving must submit an application to the city.
Neota moved to adjourn the meeting and Laura seconded. Motion passed.
The next LAB meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 3rd at 7:00 p.m.
