RESOLUTION NO. 08-R-14
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS LIFTING THE NINETY DAY MORATORIUM ON
THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR ELECTRONIC SIGNS AND
BILLBOARDS, AND PERMITING THE PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION TO AGAIN CONSIDER RECOMMENDATIONS
REGARDING APPLICATIONS FOR ELECTRONIC SIGN AND
BILLBOARD PERMITS, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz, Texas (the "City") has established standards and regulations for
signs and billboards, including electronic signs and billboards located within the City in Article
IX of the Unified Development Code;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City desires to lift the ninety-day Moratorium which was
established January 29,2008 to research and determine the best policy for the City regarding the
future use of electronic signs and billboards within the City;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
Section1. The Moratorium established in Resolution No. 08-R-07 is hereby lifted and
cancelled. The Planning and Zoning commission is once again authorized to consider and make
recommendations regarding electronic signs and billboards in accordance with Article IX of the
Unified Development Code, and appropriate officials of the City are once again authorized to
issue permits for qualifying electronic signs and billboards.
Section 2. This Resolution is effective on the date of adoption.
