BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF SCHERTZ; 'TExAs:

SECTION 1: That an election be held on the 11th day of
January, 1964~Which date is not less than fifteen (15) nor more
than thirty (30) days from the date of the adoption'.of this resolu

tion and order, at which election the following proposition shall
be submitted to the resident qualified electors of said City, who
own taxable property therein, and who have duly rendered the same
for taxation:
"SHALL the City Council of the City of Schertz,
Texas,.beauthorized to issue ONE 'HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS
($100,000) general obligation bonds()f said, City foI,' the
purpose of constructing street improvements in and for said
City; said bonds to mature serially over a period of years
pot to exceed THIRTY-FIVE (35) years from their date, and
to bear intere$t.at a ,rate. not to exceed SIX PER CENTUM
(6%) per annum; payable annually or semi-an:g,u~lly; ~tlCl.to
provide for the payment of principal of and interest on
said bonds by levying a tax sufficient to pay the annual
interest and to create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem
said bonds as they become due?"
SECTION 2: That said election shall be held at the
FIRE STATION in the CITY OF SCHERTZ" TEXAS~ and the entire City
shall constitute one election precinct. ~ ",
SECTION 3: That the following named persons are hereby
appointed officers of the election, to-wit:

SECTION 4: That said election shall be held under the
provisions of and in accordance with the laws governing the issu-
ance of municipal bonds in cities, as provided in the General Laws
of the State of Texas, and only resident qualified electors, who
own taxab~e property in the City, and who have duly rendered the
same for taxation, shall be qualified to vote.
SECTION 5: That the ballots for said election shall be
prepared in sufficient number and in conformity with Chapter 6,
V.A.T.C.S., Election Code, as amended, and that printed on such
ballots shall appear the fOllowing:

proposition so that the remaining statement shall indicate the

ABSENTEE VOTING shall be conducted at the City Secretary'
Office in'the' City Hall, in accordance with the provisians of
Chapter 424, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963.
SECTION 6: That a copy of this resolution and order

signed by the Mayor of the City and attested by the City Secretary
a t the top of which shall appear the words "NOTICE OF ELECTION
FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS", shall serve as proper notice of said

election. Said notice shall be posted at three publiC places in
said City, one of which shall be at the City Hall, not less than
fourteen (14) full days prior to the date on which said election
is to be held, and be pub]shed on the same day in each of two
successive weeks in newspapers of general circulation in the
City of Schertz, Texas, namely the Valley News (published in
said City)and The Seguin Enterprise (published in the City of

Seguin), the first of such publications in each of such
newspapers to be made no\; less \;han four\;een (14) full days prior
to the date set for said election.
