1980R06A-Public Hearing Adoption of Tax Ratio 1980 RESOLUTION NO. ~O-r<.- b A A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, SETTING A TIME, DATE AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING PURSUANT TO THE ADOPTION OF A 15 PERCENT TAX RATIO INCREASE FOR TAX YEAR 1980. WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, considers a 15 percent increase in the tax assessment ratio necessary for the Tax Year 1980 to provide city services to the citizens at the current level; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 26.05 of Senate Bill 621 a public hearing is required; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: THAT a public hearing is hereby scheduled for 7:00 P.M., Thursday, July 31, 1980, to be held in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Complex, 1400 Live Oak Road, Schertz, Texas, to obtain the views of the public concerning the proposed raising of the tax assess- ment ratio to 65 percent, a 15 percent tax ratio increase for Tax year 1980. ATTEST: THE STATE OF TEXAS ~ COUNTIES OF GUADALUPE, BEXAR AND COMAL ~ CITY OF SCHERTZ ~ On this, the 15th day of July, 1980, at 7:00 o~clock P.M., the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, convened at a regular meet- ing at the regular meeting place in the Municipal Building in the City of Schertz, Texas, pursuant to due call and notice to all of the members of said City Council, which meeting was at all times open to the public, and at which meeting the following members were present, to-wit: JACK M. STOMACKIN, SR. MAYOR RICHARD L. HOWE MAYOR, PRO TEM BARBARA TAYLOR CO UN C I LWOMAN EARL W. SAWYER COUNCILMAN JACQUELINE LAWLER COUNCILWOMAN and JIMMY G. GILMORE CITY MANAGE R JUNE G. KRAUSE CITY SECRETARY There being a quorum present, the meeting was called to order by the Mayor; and, among other proceedings had were the following: The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth resolution, which was read by the ,City Manager. Whereupon said resolution was discussed and considered by the Council. THEREUPON it was moved by Councilmember Earl W. Sawyer and seconded by Councilmember Jacqueline Lawler that said resolution be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the motion to a vote of the members of the City Council and the resolution was finally passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Barbara Taylor, Richard L. Howe, Earl W. Sawyer and Jacqueline Lawler NAYS: None ABSENT: Walter F. Schneider
