2015 Bond survey 5-14-152015 Schertz Community Input Bond Questionnaire
This questionnaire is being conducted by the Bond Committee for the City of Schertz, Texas. The committee is
made up of volunteers composed of residents who are business owners and community volunteers and leaders.
The purpose of this questionnaire is to offer eligible voters in the City of Schertz the opportunity to voice their
opinion about the proposed bond election for November 2015 and provide information to the Bond Committee
that can be presented to the Schertz City Council. This questionnaire is ONLY open to residents of the City
of Schertz.
2015 Proposed Bond Election
NOTE: The dollars presented in this survey are estimates ONLY and are based on current best
estimates.
Bond 1: Construction of New Public Safety Facility and Fire Station - $8 Million
Proposed construction of a public safety facility to include a Fire Station in the area of Southern Schertz
located between FM 78 and Interstate 10.
1. Estimated cost is $8 million.
2. Cost includes land, design, construction and certain equipment
3. Construction will improve citywide Fire Insurance Rating.
4. No debt service tax rate increase to residents attributed to
these bonds.

Bond 2: Road and Street Improvements to include FM 1103 & FM 1518 - $7 Million.
Proposed area of improvement is FM1103 between IH35 and Cibolo city limits; portions of FM1518
between FM78 and IH10; Road and Intersection improvements that may include turning, acceleration,
deceleration lanes and traffic signals.
1. Estimated cost is $2 Million for FM 1103.
$5 million for FM 1518.
2. FM 1103: TxDot will provide matching funds for project
when Schertz contribution is in place for FM 1103.
3. FM 1518: Schertz is currently seeking TxDot partnership to
obtain matching funds for FM 1518.
4. Improvement would ease traffic congestion and increase
flow of traffic to residents and commuters.
5. No debt service tax rate increase to residents attributed to these bonds.

Proposed acquisition for future park and recreation land for Schertz.
1. Allocation of fund will be $1 Million.
2. Used to find and purchase land for future City parks
and/recreation area.
3. No debt service tax rate increase to residents attributed to
these bonds.
