MINUTES OF MEETING
Thursday, September 11, 2014 — 11:30 a.m.
Call to Order and Establish a Quorum
Mayor Carpenter called the meeting to order at 12:09 P.M., and a quorum was
present.
2. Welcome and Introductions
Those in attendance stood and introduced themselves. Mayor Carpenter recognized
Mayor Suarez who introduced the City of Converse new City Manager Mr. Lanny
Lambert.
3. Approval of Minutes for August 14, 2014.
Mayor Williams made a motion seconded by Mayor Daly to approve the minutes of
the regular meeting of August 14, 2014. Motion passed.
4. Approval of Workshop Minutes for September 4, 2014.
Mayor Dennis made a motion seconded by Mayor Daly to approve the minutes of the
workshop meeting of September 4, 2014. Motion passed.
5. Approval of the Treasurer's Report for August 2014.
Mayor Jackson made a motion seconded by Mayor Daly to approve the Treasurer's
Report for August 2014. Motion passed.
6. Information Items.
A. Report from Randolph Metrocom Chamber of Commerce. (Now
called Tri- County Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Carpenter recognized Mr. Pat O'Brien, Realtor/Manager RE/MAX
who provided an update regarding the upcoming Chambers events. Mr.
O'Brien stated that you can download the app for the Tri- County Chamber
of Commerce and view the other events.
B. Report from Schertz Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Carpenter recognized Schertz Chamber President Maggie
Titterington who provided an update regarding the upcoming Chambers
events. She stated that you can also go to www.SchertzChamber.org to
view their upcoming events.
Mayor Carpenter mentioned the upcoming SchertzFest, September 19 °i
through 20 ", at Pickrell Park.
C. Report from Economic Development Committee.
Mayor Carpenter recognized Ms. Jordan Matney, City of Live Oak who
provided an update from the Economic Development Committee. She
stated they meet at 10:00 a.m., Olympia Hills Golf & Conference Center
on the same days as the Northeast Partnership for Economic Development.
D. Report from Randolph Air Power Community Council (RAPCO).
Mayor Carpenter recognized Mr. Pat O'Brien, Realtor/Manager RE/MAX
who provided an update from the Randolph Air Power Community
Council (RAPCO).
E. Report on Bicycle Mobility Advisory Committee.
Mayor Carpenter recognized Mr. Pat O'Brien, Realtor /Manager RE/MAX
who provided an update from the Bicycle Mobility Advisory Committee.
F. Report from Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).
Mayor Carpenter recognized Mayor Daly with the City of Selma who
provided an update regarding the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
7. New Business
Mayor Carpenter stated that the next Mayor's Workshop is scheduled for October 2,
2014, which is the Texas Municipal League Conference week and asked if members
would like to have this meeting or cancel. All concurred to cancel the October 2,
2014, Mayor's Workshop meeting for October 2, 2014 due to TML.
1. Presentation by John Clamp, Chairman — Alamo Regional Mobility
Authority.
Mayor Carpenter introduced former City Councilmember and now Chairman of
the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority Mr. John Clamp, who provided updated
information regarding the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority answering
questions from members and guests present. Mr. Clamp did not provide his
PowerPoint presentation, but indicated that if anyone would like a copy that he
could provide it.
8. Establish a Date and Time of the next meeting — October 9, 2014
Mayor Carpenter mentioned that the next Northeast Partnership meeting will be
held October 9, 2014, Olympia Hills Golf & Conference Center.
Door Prizes donated by the City of Garden Ridge.
Door Prizes will be donated by the City of Kirby for the November Meeting.
9. Item of Interest by Members.
Mayor Carpenter recognized Mr. John Clamp who stated that the San Antonio
Hotel Lodging Association will be hosting the Debate for Bexar County Judge
with Judge Nelson Wolff and Councilmember Carlton Soules, September 22,
2014, 5:30 p.m., at the Marriott Plaza, 555 S. Alamo Street, San Antonio in the La
Villita Ballroom. Mr. Clamp stated that if anyone was interested in attending to
please email him at iohn@SAHLA.org. and let him know so that he can get you
registered.
Mayor Carpenter recognized Mayor Pro -Tem Knaus, City of Garden Ridge who
announced their upcoming Fish Fry Bar -BQ & Auction event, Saturday, October
4, 2014, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Garden Ridge Community Center.
Mayor Carpenter recognized Mayor Jackson, City of Cibolo who announced the
upcoming Cibolo Fest 2014 Car Show, Saturday, October 11, 2014, Cibolo
Municipal Complex, South Main Street and FM 78.
Mayor Carpenter, City of Schertz announced the City of Schertz "SchertzFest ",
September 19 through 20, 2014, Pickrell Park, come and see Maggie sing on
Saturday night.
Mayor Carpenter recognized District Director with Congressman Ruben Hinojosa
Mark Gonzales who stated that he is on the Board of Directors for the Texas State
University Alumni Association who stated that they have a big football game this
Saturday, go Bobcats and it is also Military Appreciation Day, tickets are still
available on line.
10. Adjournment.
Mayor Carpenter adjourned the meeting at 1:01 p.m.
