11-11-2015 Approved MinutesNortheast Partnership for Economic Development Olympia Hills Golf and Conference Center 12900 Mount Olympus, Universal City, TX 78148 MINUTES OF MEETING Thursday, November 11, 2015 —11:30 a.m. 1. Call to Order and Establish a Quorum — A quorum was present. Mayor Dennis called the meeting to order at 11: 54 a.m., in the absence of Mayor Carpenter, a quorum was present. Mayor Dennis took a moment to honor and recognize the Veterans. Mayor Dennis had those who have served or is currently serving stay seated and all others stand and take a moment to honor and thank them for their service to the Country. 2. Welcome and Introductions Mayor Dennis welcomed everyone in attendance and those present stood and introduced themselves. Congratulations were made to newly elected Mayor City of Cibolo Allen Dunn, and to all those that were re- elected during the past election. 3. Consider nominations and appointment of the vacant Vice - Chairman Position. Mayor Dennis stated that the Vice Chairman position is currently vacant and would like to hear from the members on possible nominations. Mayor Dennis recognized Mayor Daly who made a motion to nominate Mary Dennis as Vice Chairman, as there was not a second, motioned died. Mayor Dennis recognized Mayor Seiler who nominated Mayor Tom Daly, seconded by Mayor Pro -Tem Fowler. The vote was unanimous. Motion Passed. Mayor Daly took over the meeting and thanked all those who nominated him. Mayor Daly had all those that were elected and re- elected to stand and be recognized. 4. Approval of minutes for October 1, 2015, NEP Mayor's Workshop meeting and minutes of the October 8, 2015, NEP regular meeting. Mayor Dennis made a motion seconded by Mayor Seiler to approve the minutes of the October 1, 2015 Mayor's Workshop and the minutes of the regular meeting of October 8, 2015. The vote was unanimous. Motion Passed. 5. Approval of Treasurer's Report for October 2015. Mayor Seiler made a motion seconded by Mayor Dennis to approve the October 2015 Treasurer's Report. The vote was unanimous. Motion Passed. 11 -12 -2015 Minutes 6. Information Items. A. Report from Tri County Chamber of Commerce. Mayor Daly recognized Pat O'Brien who provided information to the upcoming elected officials reception to be held at the Blue Bonnet Palace in Selma, Mr. Kevin Hadas mentioned that the luncheon is scheduled for the 2nd Tuesday. Also mentioned was Live Oak's 5K Run/Walk event in support of shopping locally which will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015, event will begin at the Live Oak Pool and Clubhouse that will be held on November 21, 2015 — 7901 Shin Oak Drive. B. Report from Schertz Chamber of Commerce. Mayor Daly recognized Ms. Maggie Titterington, Schertz Chamber President who provided information on recent and upcoming chamber events to include: Membership Awards Banquet to be held Friday, December 13, 2015, Schertz Civic Center and several ribbon cutting events. C. Report from Randolph Air Power Community Council (RAPCO). Mayor Daly recognized Mr. Pat O'Brien who briefed the group on the recent Randolph event where the hosted the hospitality suite for the performers. D. Report on Bicycle Mobility Advisory Committee. No report provided. E. Report from Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). Mayor Daly recognized MPO representative Kevin Hadas who stated that he needed the cities list of road projects so that he can submit those to MPO, this information he needs by December 1, 2015. 7. New Business. A. Presentation regarding Small Cities, Big Impact — Let's talk about How to integrate your regional planning needs. Introduction by Dawn Vernon, Drash Consultants and Maggie Seay, Cude Engineers. Presenters: Chris Dice and Sugandh Rajpal, Drash Consultants. Mayor Daly recognized Dawn Vernon, Drash Consultants and Executive Vice President Chester Drash, Chris Dice, and Maggie Seay, Cude Engineers who provided information on the recent survey providing results information as well as 11 -12 -2015 Minutes information in providing information on how to integrate your regional planning needs, answering questions from members. 8. Establish a date and time for the next Mayor's Workshop — December 3, 2015. — City of Selma Mayor Daly stated that the City of Selma will host the next Mayor's Workshop. meeting. 9. Establish a Date and Time for the next Northeast Partnership For Economic Development meeting — December 10, 2015 November Door Prizes — City of Schertz December Door Prizes — City of Selma The City of Schertz provided the door prizes for this meeting. Mayor Daly stated that the City of Selma has the door prizes for the December 10, 2015 meeting. 10. Items of Interest by Members. Mayor Daly recognized Councilmember Ed Cimics, City of Live Oak who stated that on Saturday, November 14, 2015, the City is hosting a free community document shred day, event begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at noon, the event will be held at 8001 Shin Oak Drive. He also mentioned that the Live Oak Fire Department is taking non - perishable item donations. Mayor Seiler announced their upcoming December 4, 2015, Holiday celebration. Mayor Daly recognized Ms. Maggie Seay, Cude Engineers who mentioned the upcoming SCUCISD Education Foundation Casino Night Fund Raising event. Mayor Daly recognized Office Manager Erin Matlock who mentioned the December 4, 2015, Festival of Angels event. Mayor Daly recognized Mayor Pro -Tem Hadas who mentioned the City of Selma upcoming Moving in the Park event. Mayor Daly recognized Jennifer Osborne who stated that Dr. Craig Follins has left NE Lakeview and they will begin searching for a new President in March and they have named Dr. Tomas Cleary, Vice Chancellor has been named interim. 11. Adjournment.
