Call to Order and Establish a Quorum. Mayor Carpenter called the workshop to order at 6:30 PM. Members present were: Mayor Michael Carpenter, Schertz Mayor Bill Seiler, Marion Mayor Nick Milanovich, New Berlin Mayor Jeff Hunt, Santa Clara Mayor Tom Daly, Selma Others Present: Brenda Dennis, City Secretary - Schertz George Hyde, Attorney & Counselor, Denton Navarro Rocha Bernal Hyde & Zech Catarina Gonzales, Attorney & Counselor, Denton Navarro Rocha Bernal Hyde & Zech II. Introduction Mayor Carpenter welcomed those present and those present introduced themselves. III. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Update regarding proposal from Catarina Gonzales, Denton Navarro Rocha Bernal Hyde & Zech representing NEP in the upcoming Legislative Session. Mayor Carpenter recognized Ms. Gonzales with Denton, Navarro, Rocha, Bernal, Hyde & Zech and George Hyde who stated that the proposal is to represent the NEP during the upcoming Legislative session. Ms. Gonzales stated that her firm will collaborate to develop political strategies, plan, have direct advocacy, legal analysis, draft proposals and also provide regular updates to NEP. Ms. Gonzales stated that she had received the updated areas of concern and that the contract before them has those changes. As this was discussed at a regular meeting and it was approved, Mayor Carpenter signed the contract agreement to move forward. 2. City of Windcrest's NEP Status. Mayor Carpenter stated that as of this date Windcrest has not paid their dues for 2016 and stated that we will discuss this at our January Workshop meeting on how to move forward. He stated that he and others have made attempts to get with the Mayor to become active once again, and have had no results. IV. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Resignation of Mayor Knaus as NEP Treasurer, discuss appointing a new Treasurer. Mayor Carpenter stated that he received information from Mayor Knaus that in the upcoming year the Mayor will be traveling more and will be unable to continue being the treasurer. Mayor Carpenter stated that we will bring this item up for discussion at our January NEP Mayor's Workshop meeting. V. Items of Interest by the Member Cities. Mayors in attendance provided information on their upcoming Holiday Celebrations and Tree Lighting events. Mayors discussed the NEP Website and asked that we possibly have Mr. Kevin Hadas with Cartwheel attend our January NEP Mayor's Workshop meeting to discuss. VI. Establish a Date, Time, & Location of the Next Meeting. (Next up is the City of Cibolo to host — January 5, 2017. VI. Adjournment.
