MINUTES OF WORKSHOP
- _ MAY 2, 2019
I. Call to Order and Establish a Quorum.
Mayor Daly called the workshop to order at 6:35 p.m.
II. Introduction of those present.
Members present were:
Mayor Tom Daly, Selma
Mayor Pro -Tem Kerry Gutierrez, Marion
Mayor Jeff Hunt, Santa Clara
Mayor Walt Williams, New Berlin
Mayor Al Suarez, Converse
Mayor Mary Dennis, Live Oak
Mayor John Williams, Universal City
III. OLD BUSINESS:
1. Continued discussion and possible action regarding the upcoming "Party with
the Partnership" event scheduled for October TML 2019. (Representatives from
the Reese Events Group will be in attendance) — Greg Reese — Nicholette Orozco
Members present reviewed:
• Review of required support from web site hosting team
• Review of what NEP needs from the Reese Company
2. Continued discussing regarding the 2019 Legislative session and plans from the
organization.
There was discussion of bills and their status that cities may have concerns about with
the members present.
IV. NEW BUSINESS:
3. Discussion and possible action regarding NEP Sponsorship for the RE /MAX Skylight
Balloon Fest Challenge Sponsor 2019 in the amount of $5,000.

Members discussed this item. Members discussed that this action item needs to be
placed on the agenda of the regular meetings and not on the workshop agenda.
4. Members discussed the need for appointing a RAPCO Representative, this item needs
to be added to the next regular agenda.
5. Members discussed scholarships for local college students, this item needs to be added
to the next regular agenda.
V. Items of interest by Member cities.
No items were presented.
VI. Establish a Date, Time, & Location of the Next Meeting. (Next up is the City of
Windcrest) to host for June 6, 2019.
VII. Review and discussion regarding the Agenda for May 9, 2019 regular meeting.
Discussion of upcoming NEP Election and process. Members mentioned that these
elections are held in July and needs to be placed on the July regular agenda.
Discussion regarding local school scholarships.
VIII. Adjournment.
